Update January 16, 2025
Conditions and Access Updates
Please do not let the grooming dates below deter you. January is a very slow time for users due to the typical hangover from the Christmas and New Year holiday season. We have seen numbers near zero at a few of our zones this week and we watch these numbers very closely as we monitor grooming needs.
THE SNOW – Alpine conditions are sitting between 170-190cms. While the general areas could use a new reload, we did receive some new snowfall in the alpine elevations last night and the winds have likely created some great stashes out there
When planning your trip or grabbing supplies, please have a look at our sponsor listings on this website and try to Support Those Who Support You! These great businesses and people allow us to do what we do for you!
Please consider clicking HERE and signing on as a member. Your membership matters in many ways. A basic membership is $55 and a full on seasons pass is $300 and includes your membership.
———- GROOMING INFORMATION ———-
Please be advised that daily trail fees are $30 per day per snowmobile.
Youth 15 and under are FREE (this has been increased from 12) This is the first time in 10 years there has been an increase and it was crucial to operations that we kept up with inflation and cost increases all around. Our season pass fees have remained the same for this season and we have increased the free youth age to help families and regular riders.
Allan Creek – Groomed the evening of January 16. Trail passes are required
Clemina Creek – Groomed the evening of Jan 12. The groomer is staged at 4km due to thin snow on the first 4km of trail. The groomer has made it back to the staging area a few times recently although the trail is very thin from 0-2km and there are a couple of small but tricky creek crossings. Please watch out for natural hazards. Trail Passes are required.
Chappell Creek – Groomed the evening of January 11. Very little users since. Due to low snow at low elevations, there is one tricky creek crossing at around 15km. Very few users since the groom. Trail passes are required.
Keyhole – N/A – There will be access from the Clemina staging this year as our industrial partners have left us with a quality crossing.
Crystal Ridge – Logging is ongoing in the area until mid January. The road is plowed about 4km up past the bridge. Radios are mandatory and chains are recommended. There is a small parking area at the end of the plowed road. Please be sure to use the donation box in the main staging area to help support ongoing grooming efforts.
Westridge Family Loop – N/A – Logging and plowing will be ongoing again this winter season. It is illegal to operate a snowmobile on a plowed road.
Avalanche Information
Keep your wits about you and check www.avalanche.ca before your ride. If you do venture out, please report any of your findings to the Mountain Information Network through Avalanche Canada. This can be as simple as uploading a few pictures to the app.

Mountain Caribou – The Allan and Chappell Creek Riding areas are surrounded by wildlife closures. Please educate others and report any witnessed infractions to the RAPP Line at 187.952.7277. Files are available on our website that can be put into your gps or phone to help you understand the boundaries. Failure to comply with regulations or to report infractions will only result in further restrictions and potential loss of the area and none of us want that. STAY IN BOUNDS!
Please be aware of your location at all times. Allan and Chappell Creek are surrounded by wildlife closures and any infraction is extremely detrimental to our cause of protecting our ride areas. We are in a very sensitive state in the province right now and it is more important than ever to show what good stewards the snowmobile community is. Help with education and self policing while out in the field.
